What is the schedule for the Intensive?

The Intensive begins promptly on Friday evening at 7 PM and ends no later than 3 PM on Sunday. The schedule is as follows: Friday 7-9 PM, Saturday 9 AM-9PM, Sunday 9 AM-3 PM. Ample time will be given for lunches and dinner (at nearby restaurants).

What does an Intensive cost?

The registration fee for an Intensive is $1195* per couple. While we are sensitive to the financial cost for each couple, we also recognize this is an investment into your marriage – and one that may very well transform or even save yours! Since we want to do what we can to make this Intensive affordable (yet also provide us with appropriate compensation), we are offering this Intensive for half the cost of similar intensives (believe us, we’ve done the research!). And take note that the 15+ hours of therapeutic work we offer to you in one weekend is comparable to 3-6 months of weekly marriage counseling – and at HALF the cost!

* A $500 non-refundable deposit is included in the registration fee. For any cancellation, the $500 deposit is transferable to another HEART of Marriage Intensive within one year (12 months) of the cancellation. The $500 deposit is non-refundable if the couple decides not to attend any Intensives within that year period.

Does the cost include food and lodging?

No, the cost does not include food and lodging. The host hotel offers a reduced room rate for those who make reservations at least 3 weeks prior to the Intensive. And there are several dining options of different price points within a short driving distance from the host hotel, with several located within walking distance. Coffee/water and snacks are provided throughout the day.

Do you offer scholarships? Is this covered by insurance?

No, we do not offer scholarships, and the Intensive is not covered by insurance.

Do we have to stay at the host hotel?

No, you are free to stay at another hotel and there are several hotels within a short driving distance from the host hotel. However, the host hotel is more convenient for you to get to and from your room and the conference room, especially for in-room interactive assignments; therefore, we strongly encourage you to stay at the host hotel.

Even if you live locally, we highly recommend you spend the entire weekend at the host hotel to be free from distractions and other demands and fully focus on each other and your marriage.

Will I have to share in a group setting?

No one will be asked to share anything with the group. Interaction with other couples is strictly voluntary. Any sharing will be done just between the two of you, in seclusion in the conference room or in the privacy of your hotel room.

Do you provide follow-up care after the Intensive?

Following recommendations from the leaders, each couple will develop a CARE Plan on Sunday afternoon. The CARE Plan will include commitments to specific action steps, individually and as a couple, to sustain the connection gained at the Intensive and to create new interactional patterns. Other after-care options will be offered also.

What are the next steps to attend an Intensive?

1.      Register and pay for the Intensive. Click on the Intensive Registration tab to register and pay. NOTE: only one (1) purchase per couple.

If the Intensive you selected is full, you have the option of either registering for a future event OR please reach out to us (via the “Contact” tab) to be placed on a wait list (in case there are any cancellations).

2.      Reserve your hotel room. If staying at the host hotel, follow the instructions provided on the Registration page at least 3 weeks prior to the Intensive to receive the discount rate.

3.      Complete the confidential Participant Questionnaire, which can be found on this website under the Intensive tab. Each spouse will fill out the questionnaire individually (simply refresh the page for the second spouse to complete it). Your answers provide us with an understanding of your issues before you arrive.
