les & rhonda morrison

We have been married since 1985 and have two adult sons, a daughter-in-law, and 2 grandchildren.  While trusting God to help us through the struggles within our marriage, we have been enjoying an enduring friendship and meaningful connection between us.  Throughout our journey, we have had the privilege of sharing our insights and offering practical help to hundreds of couples through counseling, teaching, and presenting seminars and retreats.  We both grew up in the Midwest and together we have lived in Illinois, Ohio, and Indiana and we have lived in the northern suburbs of Detroit since 1994.  We are members of Woodside Bible Church (http://woodsidebible.org).

Les is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in marital counseling with a private practice office in Auburn Hills, Michigan (at Insight Counseling Services). Les is also an ordained pastor and served several churches throughout the Midwest for 17 years in a variety of pastoral capacities.  In preparation for ministry, Les studied Bible and Christian ministry at Lincoln Christian University, where he received a B.A. in church growth, and took graduate courses at Cincinnati Christian University in practical ministry and church leadership.  When Les decided to change careers to become a professional counselor, he worked for nearly 5 years in business management and sales positions while obtaining his M.A. in Counseling degree from Siena Heights University.  Les has worked as a professional counselor since 2009, first at a community mental health agency near Detroit, Michigan, then as a clinical therapist and the Director of Marriage and Family Services at Perspectives Counseling Center in Troy, Michigan, before joining Insight Counseling Services in 2014.  Les is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), a member of the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT), and co-founder of the Michigan Community for Emotionally Focused Therapy. Les has completed Level One of the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, and he is a certified facilitator for both the PREPARE/ENRICH and SYMBIS assessments.  Les also operates his own business, Re:Connect Counseling & Consulting Services (www.reconnectccs.com), through which he provides consulting services to pastors and church leadership teams and presents seminars and retreats.  Les enjoys running (1 marathon and several half-marathons), camping, canoeing, genealogy research, and since he is a native of Indiana he is an avid Hoosier basketball fan.

Rhonda has been a Registered Nurse for over 40 years.  Most of her nursing career has been in the mental health field, having worked with adolescents in psychiatric hospitals, severely mentally ill patients in a community mental health agency, and drug and alcohol addicts in a rehabilitation center.  Rhonda also has a BA degree in Piano from Lincoln Christian University.  She has taught piano to students of all ages for nearly 40 years, currently teaching students in her home piano studio. She was also a co-founder of a Christian band, has written several songs, directed youth choirs, and played the piano in church worship teams.  Besides playing the piano, Rhonda enjoys scrap-booking/card-making, reading, exploring alternative health practices, and babysitting her grandchildren.
